SMART's booth showcases wide range of group collaboration solutions

CALGARY, Alberta --- April 27, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that it will show a range of state-of-the-art hardware and software products ideal for the Chinese market at its booth, D15, at Integrated Systems China 2005. The trade show will be held in Shanghai from April 27-29.

• SMART Board™ software 9.1 – Debuting at IS China and available in both simple and traditional Chinese, the new version offers numerous first-ever features that simplify using digital content on a SMART Board interactive whiteboard. With a more flexible and easy-to-use interface, version 9.1 integrates new tools to manage content, including the ability to open and save Flash® files within Notebook™ software, SMART Board software's whiteboarding application. LinQ™ software, also included in version 9.1, connects any networked computer, such as a wireless laptop, to a SMART Board interactive whiteboard, making it easy to share any user's desktop with a larger audience.
  
  
• SMART Board 580 interactive whiteboard – The world's most popular front-projection interactive whiteboard. Connected to a computer and projector, the interactive whiteboard is like a giant computer screen that users simply touch to operate.
  
  
• Rear Projection SMART Board 2000i interactive whiteboard – SMART's best-selling rear-projection interactive whiteboard with integrated projector. The height of the interactive whiteboard can be adjusted for different users and activities. The integrated rear-projection system allows users to work without casting a shadow on the screen. • Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i interactive whiteboard – The 3000i has an integrated, high-resolution projector, integrated sound system and precise touch control, all in one sleek, mobile cabinet. • Actalyst™ interactive digital signage – Actalyst interactive overlays, the first SMART products aimed at the digital signage market, are mounted on plasma displays or LCD panels, making them touch sensitive. Actalyst interactive overlays provide the high-performance touch accuracy and image clarity ideal for large digital signage applications and self-service kiosks in retail stores, hotels, trade shows, airports, museums and lobbies. Actalyst interactive overlays are compatible with 15 popular brands of flat-panel displays, in sizes ranging from 37" to 65" (94-160 cm). The overlay fastens easily and securely to the display and preserves its crisp, bright image.
  
  
• SynchronEyes™ computer-lab instruction software – The software, available in Chinese, helps teachers provide both whole-class and one-to-one instruction directly from their desktops and keep students on task. Features include the ability to restrict Internet access or block applications such as games or calculators during exams and assignments.
  
  
• Projector wall mount – The wall mount is designed to simplify fixed installations of the WT600 lensless projector from NEC Solutions America, Inc. with SMART Board 560 and 580 interactive whiteboards. The mount attaches to the wall instead of the ceiling, using a single mounting bracket for both the interactive whiteboard and projector. The NEC WT600 short-throw projector attaches directly above the SMART Board interactive whiteboard to minimize shadows on the display and keep light out of the presenter's eyes.
